Strengthening Unions in Virginia
One of Martire’s most notable achievements is his leadership during the Route 495 Hot Lanes Project. By giving workers the choice to unionize, he helped establish LiUNA Local 11, a victory still celebrated as one of the most significant in Virginia’s construction history.
Building Fair Wage Policies in Maryland
Martire also left his mark in Maryland, where he collaborated with officials in Montgomery County to pass prevailing wage laws. These laws have provided stability for working families while improving efficiency in public works projects.
